Outdoor Learning at the RVOEP
Every Tuesday through Friday during the fall and spring, a class from the Ukiah Unified School District arrives for an outdoor learning adventure with the RVOEP staff and volunteers. RVOEP’s unique hands-on programs are tied to California State Science Standards and give students the opportunity to explore this wild 45-acre woodland. Through their experiences at the RVOEP students learn about the web of life that forms this fragile oak woodland ecosystem and they begin to see how our earth’s life-support systems work. They gain a love of nature, a sense of adventure, and the knowledge and skills that will help them make intelligent decisions about their impact on the earth. During the winter months RVOEP classroom programs extend these learning experiences.
