“Let Nature be your teacher. – William Wordsworth
Every week during the fall and spring, Ukiah Unified School District classes arrive for an outdoor learning adventure with the RVOEP staff and volunteers. RVOEP’s unique hands-on programs are tied to Next Generation Science Standards and give students the opportunity to explore this wild 45-acre woodland. Through their experiences at the RVOEP, students learn about the web of life that forms this fragile oak woodland ecosystem and they begin to see how our earth’s life-support systems work. They gain a love of nature, a sense of adventure, and the knowledge and skills that will help them make intelligent decisions about their impact on the earth. During the winter months RVOEP classroom programs extend these learning experiences.
